The title of the VS Naipaul saga was “Beyond Belief”, but verily, what’s happening in the Mighty States just now, staggers belief

The Navarro Report: The Art of the Steal

Judging from the relentless editorials and other opinion pieces that have been appearing in the leading Swedish newspapers these past six months, it would seem that the whole world is in uproar and ablaze against the 45th President of the United States, and that his 6th of January speech to his supporters was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back, got the holier-than-thou pontificators, not least of all His Holiness Pope Francis 1, sadly shaking his head with an “enough is enough!”.

Some of the most ardent of Trump supporters, not without reason, bellicose, equally filled with some holy fire and some holy ire all peculiarly their own, like some of the stiff-necked people say that the Holy Pontiff is somewhat biased, and in support of such a seemingly heretical or blasphemous accusation, in support of the conspiracy theory they are brewing, they say that the Catholics want to take over the United States: they point to the unassailable fact-based evidence that Joe Biden is a catholic (not exactly an oxymoron, even if he supports abortion) and dude, so is the President's arch-enemy, the prayerful Nancy Pelosi who says that she “prays for the president every day”, so is the Chief Justice of the United States, John Roberts, also a Catholic, just like John Kerry and the Kennedys, and not only that, some ardent Trump supporters are not terribly amused either that six out of the nine Judges in  the Supreme Court of the United States, happen to be Roman Catholics!

So rightly or wrongly they wonder, doggone, what’s going on?

Since so much of the anti-Trump attitude is confirmed by Trump and Biden’s fellow Americans who are at the scene of the various crimes being committed, a man must begin to reason, it can’t be that the whole world is wrong whereas Trump and all his supporters (how many million of them?) are right?

Most of the world is screaming “Democracy ” - in theory and practice, at least, as an ideal, The Ideal - and the President of the Unites States of America is supposed to be deserving of the titular honour, “Leader of the free world” with the idea that the United States is the place where freedom begins and freedom is showcased, but for starters, looka here: Your Black World and all of that Roland S. Martin

My head got a slight turn-around by the guy who inadvertently inspired me to study Heraclitus - I told him this and his response was some food for thought:

"Heraclitus, and several of the Greek philosophers, have much to teach us to this day.  Some people in this country still think the world is flat, so we have lots of educational work to do.  We have a traumatic week ahead until we have a new president. Whether he will be permitted to govern or instead have to deal with an insurrection and insurgency is still unknown.  I am looking forward to relaxing so I can contemplate the dawn and pre-Socratics without anxiety about the republic ceding to dictatorship filling my thoughts.  I did take note of that EU-China marriage.  Even if Biden "rights the ship" who will have any faith that the yahoos won't be back in charge before too long?

Distressing. "
